Struggle against terrorism: Israeli experience
The article examines the specifics of the fight against terrorism in Israel, including the rights and duties of the military, intelligence and prisoners. In addition, the author explores Israel’s approaches to the notion of terrorism, a terrorist act and a terrorist organization, state’s mechanisms for determining whether or not a terrorist threat exists. In this context, the author analyzes the common challenges for all countries to combat terrorism and the practical measures launched by the Israeli Law on Combating Terrorism in 2016. The most robust elements of the fight against terrorism in Israel are the extraterritoriality of Israeli justice, the inclusion of the fight against terrorism into the notion of national defense, quasi-judicial methods for determining punishments by terror suspects.
