СВЯТОЙ ПРЕСТОЛ, РОССИЯ И СИРИЙСКОЕ УРЕГУЛИРОВАНИЕ
В cтатье рассматриваются позиции Святого Престола и Российской Федерации по отношению к сирийскому конфликту в свете актуальных событий (разногласия в Совбезе ООН и ракетные удары США, Великобритании и Франции по САР). Особую актуальность статья приобретает ввиду недавно состоявшегося телефонного разговора Патриарха Московского и Всея Руси Кирилла и Папы Римского Франциска, в рамках которого иерархи обсудили сложившуюся ситуацию в регионе и приняли решение совместно призвать мировое сообщество принять эффективные меры для скорейшего прекращения насилия. Несмотря на то, что Святой Престол не выступал с открытой поддержкой позиции РФ, его внешнеполитические задачи схожи с приоритетами российской дипломатии. С момента возникновения внутриполитического кризиса в стране оба государства последовательно выступали за его мирное урегулирование, соблюдение суверенитета государства и бескомпромиссную борьбу с терроризмом. Изучая официальные выступления представителей Ватикана, автор приходит к выводу, что интересы Святого Престола расходятся с мнением многих западных стран, считающих возможным замену переговорного процесса силовыми действиями. В статье также приведены конкретные примеры гуманитарной помощи, которые оказывают Москва и Ватикан пострадавшим в военном конфликте.

THE HOLY SEE, RUSSIA AND SYRIAN SETTLEMENT
The article examines the positions of the Holy See and the Russian Federation on the Syrian conflict in the light of current events (divergences in the UN Security Council and missile strikes of the United States, Britain and France on the SAR). The article is particularly relevant in the view of a telephone conversation recently held between Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus’ Kirill and the Pope of Rome Francis, during which the religious figures discussed the current situation in the region and decided to jointly call upon the world community to take effective measures for the cessation of violence. Despite the fact that the Holy See did not openly support the position of the Russian Federation, its foreign policy tasks are similar to the priorities of Russian diplomacy. Since the beginning of the internal political crisis in the country, both states have consistently advocated for its peaceful settlement, respect for the sovereignty of the state and uncompromising fight against terrorism. Having the official statements of the Vatican representatives studied, the author comes to the conclusion that the interests of the Holy See do not go in line with the opinion of many Western countries who consider it possible to replace the negotiation process by force. The article also provides specific examples of humanitarian assistance provided by Moscow and the Vatican to the victims of the military conflict.
