ПРОГНОЗИРОВАНИЕ БУДУЩЕЙ МИРОВОЙ ВОЙНЫ РУССКИМ ГЕНЕРАЛОМ
А.Г. ЕЛЧАНИНОВЫМ В 1909 – 1912 ГОДАХ.
В статье анализируются прогнозы будущей войны, сделанные на рубеже 1900 – 1910-х годов русским военным теоретиком А.Г. Елчаниновым. Автор статьи констатирует, что Елчанинов относительно адекватно прогнозировал некоторые черты военного искусства и события Первой мировой войны. Так, этот русский генерал предвидел, что германская армия в начале войны предпримет гигантский обход линии французских крепостей через территорию Бельгии. Но Елчанинов сделал и ряд ошибочных прогнозов. Он не мог предвидеть ни провал этого обхода, ни образование сплошного позиционного фронта, ни роль авиации, подводного флота, танков и артиллерии в мировой войне. В статье делается вывод, что адекватно предвидеть ход и исход будущей войны в мирное время невозможно.

FORECASTING THE FUTURE WORLD WAR BY THE RUSSIAN GENERAL ANDREI GEORGIEVICH BY ELCHANINOV IN 1909 – 1912.
The article analyzes the forecasts of the future war made at the turn of 1900 – 1910s by the Russian military theorist A. G. Elchaninov. The author of the article states that Elchaninov relatively adequately predicted some features of military art and the events of the First world war. Thus, this Russian General foresaw that the German army at the beginning of the war would make a giant detour of the line of French fortresses through the territory of Belgium. But Elchaninov made a number of erroneous predictions. He could not foresee neither the failure of this detour, the formation of a continuous position front, nor the role of aviation, submarine fleet, tanks and artillery in the world war. It is drawn a conclusion in this article that it is impossible to foresee adequately the course and outcome of future war in peacetime.
