СВЯТИЛИЩЕ И ОРАКУЛ В ДОДОНЕ ПО ДАННЫМ АНТИЧНЫХ И ВИЗАНТИЙСКИХ ИСТОЧНИКОВ: ДИАХРОНИЧЕСКИЙ ПОДХОД
Данная статья представляет собой тематически-хронологический обзор сведений древнегреческих, латинских и византийских источников о святилище Зевса в Додоне. Информация по Додоне, содержащаяся в античных и византийских произведениях, в целом, достаточно объемна, но при этом крайне разнородна и противоречива: помимо ценных сведений, почерпнутых авторами из культовых реалий Додоны, она включает различные асинхронные мифологические традиции, аккуратно сложенные местные легенды, ошибочные толкования некоторых аспектов деятельности святилища и оракула и даже выдуманные детали. Кроме того, в святилище были найдены тысячи надписей с вопросами к божествам Додоны и несколькими «ответами». Вся эта сумма сведений складывалась на протяжении почти двух тысячелетий – со времени создания гомеровских поэм (примерно VIII в. до н.э.) до написания Etymologicon Magnum (поздневизантийский период) – и не может быть безусловно применимой к каждой конкретной фазе деятельности святилища. С другой стороны, хронологическая последовательность появления сведений по Додоне в источниках позволяет проследить изменения форм культа и эволюцию религиозной концепции святилища.

THE SANCTUARY AND ORACLE AT DODONA ACCORDING TO THE EVIDENCE OF ANCIENT AND BYZANTINE SOURCES: A DIACHRONIC APPROACH
This paper presents a thematic and chronological survey of the evidence provided by the Ancient Greek, Latin, and Byzantine literary sources regarding the sanctuary of Zeus in Dodona. Information on Dodona contained in the works of ancient and byzantine authors in sum is quite extensive, but also extremely heterogeneous and contradictory: apart from valuable references to the realities the cult practiced in Dodona, it includes various asynchronous mythological traditions, carefully designed local legends, erroneous interpretations of certain aspects of the sanctuary and oracle, and even made-up details. Moreover, thousands of inscriptions with questions to the gods of Dodona and several «divine answers» were found in the sanctuary. This sum of evidence was being formed during almost two millennia – from the time of the composition of the Homeric poems in the eighth century BC until the compilation of the Etymologicon Magnum in the Late Byzantine period; therefore, it seems incorrect to unconditionally apply all available information to each particular stage of the history of the sanctuary. In fact, the chronological sequence of the appearance of information on Dodona in the sources may indicate cult changes in the sanctuary and can be used for tracing the evolution of its religious concept.
