SYSTEM OF MEASURES TO HELP FAMILIES CALLED UP FOR WAR ON THE TERRITORY OF MOGILEV PROVINCE OF THE MINSK MILITARY DISTRICT IN 1914-1915

The article highlights the issue of providing assistance to families called up for work during the war of 1914. The first requests for assistance to families called up for the war were received in the first weeks after the beginning of the World war I. At the end of August 1914, special commissions, called subsequently the Trustees, were created. They took care of the families, conscripted for military service. It should be highlighted the main directions of their activities: carrying out agricultural work: harvesting, sowing grain, harvesting firewood, etc.; allocation of funds; free provision of goods and organization of meals; collection of donations. With decreasing reserves of the Treasury to determine to meet the needs of families in the allocation of benefits, special comissions formed of members of the district Zemstvo assemblies were created. The assistance was given not only by administrative structures, but also by private organizations. The «Mogilev public Committee for assistance to persons called up for active military service and their families» was formed by the representatives of public commercial industrial and credit institutions. It provided financial assistance. The article is written on the basis of materials of periodicals of Mogilev province of 1914-1915.
