TRANSFORMATION OF THE CELEBRATION STRUCTURE OF THE OCTOBER REVOLUTION ON THE PAGES OF «THE KRASNOYE ZNAMYA» NEWSPAPER (1985–1991)
The ideological narratives of the late Soviet era dedicated to the celebration of the October Revolution Day (1985–199) are explored in the article. The empirical base of the reseach is based on the materials of the newspaper «Krasnoye znamya» (Tomsk). The question is posed about the dynamics of the structure of the celebration of October Day on the pages of late Soviet ideological texts in the context of changing the commemorative and political space of the Perestroika on local material. The main theoretical principle is the synthesis of structure and anti-structure of ritual actions proposed by Victor Turner on the basis of which any celebratory action is built. The actualization of the study is based on the morden status of commemorative spaces of “trauma” and “nostalgia” in the Russian political discourse regarding the events of the October Revolution. The main research findings are connected to the concepts of dual identity of the Soviet citizen, political estrangement and ressentiment.
