THE SPECIFICITY OF THE FUNCTIONING OF THE HAMAS MOVEMENT
IN THE MODERN WORLD
The article studies the functioning system of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas that since 2006-2007 has controled a separate enclave, the Gaza Strip. The issue is relevant due to the growing influence of Hamas in the region, as well as its ability to independently shape foreign and domestic policies. The paper studies such issues as the structure of the movement, its sources of financing and the system of external relations. The purpose of the work is to comprehensively review the key features of the functioning of Hamas. In the course of studying the question posed, historical and political science analysis methods were used. Among the main results, it is worth highlighting: identifying a clear vertical structure of Hamas, identifying its key external and internal sources of financing, as well as the role of organization cells abroad and the specifics of building external relations. The author concludes that Hamas is a powerful non-state actor in the region, the opinion of which all players in the Middle East region have to take into account, because, despite many problems in Gaza, he learned to maintain power. However, due to the difficult socio-economic situation in the sector, its management methods can hardly be called successful.
