FEATURES OF DIPLOMATIC ACTIVITY OF THE ENTENTE POWERS IN THE MIDDLE EAST DURING THE FIRST WORLD WAR
The article analyzes the prerequisites for the formation of the Palestinian question in the policy of the «great powers» of the period preceding the First World War. The actions of the «great powers» in relation to the Ottoman Empire during the First World War are analyzed in the practice of resolving the Palestinian issue. The authors emphasized in the study the preparation and practice of implementing the policy of the Russian Empire in relation to the solution of the Palestinian issue in the context of world politics of the corresponding period of time. The authors evaluate the results, according to the data reflected in the historical sources on the settlement of the Palestinian issue and the consequences that affected the subsequent development of events in the territory of Palestine. The article analyzes the letter of the Russian ambassador in Constantinople, Charykov N.V. Acting Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Neratov A.A. (May 23 (10), 1911, the process of preparing and concluding the Sykes-Picot agreement and the political and diplomatic struggle about the status of Palestine after its conclusion.
