KNIVES OF THE X-XV CENTURIES FROM THE TERRITORY
OF THE MOGILEV REGION AS AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE CULTURE OF EVERYDAY LIFE

Article is devoted to the review of knives of X-XV centuries from territory of Mogilev Dnieper region. The main publications on knives from the considered territory are analyzed. The historiography on this topic has been studied. Based on the state standard of the Russian Federation (Гост Р №51500-99), the terminology of the constituent elements of knives was unified. In the analysis of knives, formal-typological and historical-comparative methods were used, metallographic data were taken into account (research by M.F. Gurin artifacts from the territory of Krichev and settlement Hory). Artifacts are systematized based on typology of of A.E. Leontiev, supplemented by the author (Section III type 2), used research of R.S. Minasyan, Y.A. Zayats, G.N. Saganovich. Conclusions are made about the distribution of certain types, ethnicity of certain types of products, about the legality of the relationship between the type of product and the method of production.
